Recommended visit: VINMAG in Soho. A print-lover’s paradise since 1980.

Head downstairs to the basement where you will find magazines from a 1940s National Geographic to the seedier side of publishing from the 70s and 80s.

Other highlights include The Face for £10 a copy and five boxes full of beautifully illustrated New Yorkers at £5 each. If you have got money to burn though, look out for mid-century issues of Vogue. A Jean Shrimpton cover from 1963 will set you back £50.

Even if you go just for a browse, it is definitely worth it!

SO…I’ve just been offered a full time design job!

It’s a junior designer position based in Camden at an international magazine publishing company called Boston Hannah. They design a huge amount of magazines covering various different topics, printed for the UK and America, with offices based in both London and Chicago.

I can’t wait to get started!

Today I met with the lovely people at Bespoken Media in Surrey. They are a fairly new publishing company, creating content for clients across multiple platforms.

If you like men’s magazines (or magazine design in general) you should definitely check out Magnificent Man - they’re currently working on the 3rd issue and it’s had an amazing response so far. They publish around 6 titles at the moment and have also got a couple more exciting projects to be announced very soon…

I’m hoping to get involved with the team with both their new and existing projects. I’ll know more next week. Watch this space.
