It never occurred to me that using a male cover star on a magazine targeted at women is a bloody fantastic idea. Elle magazine has done just that for the first time ever, with none other than Mr David Beckham enticing women everywhere to pick up the issue. Well, why wouldn’t you?
With two alternate covers to choose from, as well as a specially designed subscribers edition, we are spoilt for choice. I buy Elle on a regular basis, definitely can’t wait to get my hands on this one!
I have been busy busy with my new job! But I’ve had lots of my design work published in various different magazine so I shall be uploading more of my layouts very very soon.

I started my temp design assistant job at Redwood last week - it was a pretty busy but amazing week!
I got involved with helping prepare presentation boards for pitches (with some pretty big clients!), working on e-mags and doing lots of general design work. I can’t say too much about what client work I was doing but there’s lots of very exciting stuff going on.
I start my second and unfortunately last week tomorrow. It should be another great week, and then it’s onto my full time junior designer job at Boston Hannah. Exciting times.
Plog Magazine have wrote some really lovely things about me and my work on their blog.
It’s really motivating seeing things like this. All the hard work is finally starting to pay off and I’m loving what I’m doing! Check out the blog - lots of inspiring people on there.

I need to upgrade though, so I can add more projects and also buy my domain name.

Liquid layout
This is an interesting idea! And one which will seem like a godsend to digital designers. When I was at The Times creating layouts for the iPad and Android, it was such a pain having to create every layout twice, for both portrait and landscape orientations.
A ‘liquid layout’ feature would make life so much easier - things would get done much quicker and you would no longer have to put up with ugly borders around a layout as a result of it not fitting a certain screen size. The perfectionist in me loves this.
Just had my induction today for my 2 week ‘design assistant to the creative director’ job at Redwood, starting Monday.
Everyone there seems really nice. The office is gorgeous, directly opposite The National Portrait Gallery, and the work they do there fantastic. I can’t wait to be part of such a busy, professional team for a fortnight. It’s an amazing opportunity and I can’t thank Paul Kurzeja enough for thinking of me!
My sister is getting married at the end of this year. They’re having a winter wedding and I am designing all of their stationery! I designed the engagement invites, now i’m onto the Save The Dates. They want something really simple, with a red and cream colour scheme to match that of the wedding.
These are some initial ideas. I’ll post the final design once they’re completely happy with it. I can’t wait to design the actual invitations later in the year too!
